Presidential Squeaker with Close Voting.
Was hopin' the "Swing States" had thinkers going to the poles. This was a close one. Now I'm the one with "Hope" that the President will "Change" things for the better for us (We the People).
We need a Financial Recovery. The Obama Care taxes start soon folks. These numerous Taxes are B I G. Some on Gross Sales. Some on Capital Gains. Some hidden here and there.
AND there is not enough Doctors or Hospital beds for a UNIVERSAL 100% of the population level of service. It is going to be worse than Canada. Canadians come to USA for critical surgeries when the line is too long in Canada. We from the USA will be running to India for surgical procedures that the government lackeys decide we do not need.
In Closing... The GOP is almost un-electable as long as the party is against the "Woman's Right to Choose". This and other small minded parts of the GOP platform are sad nods to the religious fringe that shoots the GOP in the foot.
Both the Republicans and the Democrats pander to much to the fringe particles in the early stages that determine the candidates. The ones with strong wills and ideas are trashed early. Leaving the weak as the last ones for us to pick among in the process. (yes I used particles as they are that small a part)
I have given up on the two main parties. I suggest more of us do the same. We need INCLUSIVENESS. And we need FAIRNESS. And we need support of the common man/woman in the efforts to have PROSPERITY.
What we do not need is endless additions to Entitlements.

Travesty of bad news. Poor Reporting that is.
IMHO
this cartoon is relevant to our current political situation. One station on the hard right. Multiple on the
left. Even my 19 year old son is in
disbelief of the media. More likely to believe stories on misc. blogs than a
newspaper. This modern phenom of the 24 hour news show is pandering. AND the exposure of the CNN pandering to the
White House on the scandal of the death of our ambassador and political
representatives there is an extra travesty. Travesty is our loss in the faith
in impartial news reporting.
Even
NYC Mayor Giuliani calls them on it.
The CNN News Desk sold us bad reporting. But this is the report that they file now…

Fathers and the Election
How Do You Vote for Parenting Rights and Responsibilities?
By Rita Fuerst Adams, National Executive Director,
Fathers and Families
Which party is dedicated to parenting rights and responsibilies? Does either promote shared parenting? It certainly is not evident in the political platforms of the Democrats or the Republicans.
Both President Barack Obama and Governor Mitt Romney are considered good fathers. Both should know and understand their value to their own children. We would hope this would translate into defending the rights and responsibilities of all fathers in their children’s lives.
As you mull over the debates and the campaign advertisements, perhaps it is also good to see what each party has included in its political platform. This, supposedly, is what each party is dedicated to accomplishing in the coming four years.
The Democratic political platform addresses:
“President Obama’s administration has offered men who want to be good fathers extra support. We have bolstered community faith-based groups focused on fatherhood, partnered with businesses to offer opportunities for fathers to spend time with their kids at the bowling alley or ballpark, and worked to help deployed dads connect with their children. We all have a stake in forging stronger bonds between fathers and their children.”
The Republican political platform addresses marriage and traditional values as the solution for our children’s modern issues:
“It has been proven by both experience and endless social science studies that traditional marriage is best for children. Children raised in intact married families are more likely to attend college, are physically and emotionally healthier, are less likely to use drugs or alcohol, engage in crime, or get pregnant outside of marriage.”
As you read the platforms please remember that currently the United States Congress, through the Office of Child Support Enforcement spends $5 billion each year on child support enforcement and $10 million to help dads enforce their visitation rights.
Vote. Vote your pocketbook. Vote your conscience. Just exercise your right and vote.
Liberated from http://www.fathersandfamilies.org/
I see the above... (Children raised in intact married families are more likely to attend college, are physically and emotionally healthier, are less likely to use drugs or alcohol, engage in crime) and think that Yes I did the right thing to stay very involved in my sons lives.
I have been getting the newsletter from Fathers and Families for a long time. Interesting reading.
Sincerely,
Keith L.

Ethanol in fuel is not a clear cut thing...
Ethanol is being pushed still as a solution to Oil dependence. Ever since the 1980's. But is it useful? Or should the question be Why is the Corn Lobby so powerful? Or Why is the EPA being a bully when some parts of the consumer market does not want it?
I hear that right now we have a Corn shortage. We are losing good growing area to over development. (like Oxnard CA) AND mostly because it takes so much work (and Diesel) to produce the crop that makes so little fuel. Especially when compared to the amount of fuel it takes to create that fuel. Gallon to Gallon it gives back very little.
Unless you are part of that company that wants all the jobs and subsidies. And that is all they are selling. Give us more subsidies. Force by law that they must buy my product. Even if it is unsound to produce the product and use it in this way.
Good Fuel for my boat is key. If they put corn ethanol into the gas it will damage my Cummins engine injectors according to a metal expert from the company that makes the parts in the engine. Was very interesting cocktail party conversation. He was quoting tolerances of the steel in the various parts. If they force us to use E-15 fuels...
Then I'll be a person who can be enjoined as a party to this law suit.

Not Mr Obama. We need to think about this vote.
Please do not vote for
Obama for the next 4 years.
While I do not agree
with all the parts of any one party stance or party platform. I do truly
see major problems with continuing down the path our current White House is
heading.
Most policy is done in
the Capital building. That houses the Congress and House of
Representatives. BUT that is the Republican and Democrat party controlled
playground. There many bills that are going to affect various parts of
our lives are debated and voted on and modified and many "log
rolling" trades of influence takes place.
But in the White House
the influencers are the selections and pressing opinions of the president.
Our current president is
making some decisions that I do not like. Stopping the pipeline that
would bring oil into the USA from Canada for example. I think it’s a big
mistake. We must reduce gas prices or our economy will keep
sputtering!
One problem that many do
not see fully yet is the huge cost of Obama Care taxes. This is starting
at 3.8 % of all capital gains in just a few weeks come Jan 1 2013. That
is an extra % off of all your Real Estate and Stock sales from now on! A
big chunk! Nation Wide! That is huge. I got a tiny refund
check from my insurance company. I'll pay $60,000 to $70,000 extra tax on
the sale of my house or apartment building to pay for that measly $50 dollar
check. And my health insurance premium with up by over $500 per year.
Not OK.
Then the news that CNN
and other news outlets falsified the news re. the attacks on our consulate.
And that they are making bad decisions that lead to more military deaths.
Please tell me this is not so?
You be the judge.
Review this for the

I am very much
interested in the removal of a White House that is not leading to a place of

It is long but for those
who want to know what the “Political Chops” our sitting president brings to the
white house you will appreciate the full treatment of the topic of what the man
has associated himself with and how he sees the world. What is the
benefit of his special view? I’m not in alignment but YOU need to find your
own view. So watch the full show.
Then there is this very
cool video... A 13 year old kid does a report card for review of the
record... http://youtu.be/prmGb1o3dcQ It is cute and really to the point on the key issues in this election. The short one to watch.
I'm for Energy
Independence. AND reducing the price of gas.
I'm not for the
perpetration of the Demo vs Repub status quo. The same old stuff from the
same old stuff shirts. Voting for Obama only because he is on the
Democrat ticket is too simplistic. WE the People (Us) need to think more
deeply. What does this election mean on the topics that really affect us.
Maybe we all need to think about more than just the two party system.
What would that mean? I think it would mean we voted
"For" something.
Are you really a Libertarian?
Are you really a Peace and Freedom?
Are you more aligned to Green Party?
Do you know the actual
platform of the Democrats?
Or the full platform of
the Republican Party?
No one person is able to
be "For" all the items in any group's platform. But you can
have a sway in what one person is going to carry our nation forward in the White House for the next 4 years. Please vote wisely.

fair is and is not a shared goal
fair
fair, fair·er, fair·est, fair·er, fair·est,
1. free from bias, dishonesty, or injustice: a fair decision; a fair judge.
2. legitimately sought, pursued, done, given, etc.; proper under the rules: a fair fight.
3. moderately large; ample: a fair income.
4. neither excellent nor poor; moderately or tolerably good: fair health.
5. marked by favoring conditions; likely; promising: in a fair way to succeed
Today I spent a bit if time with attorneys. This was attorneys that are billing me for their time. And today the word fair is not one one gets to use. The other side does not want fair. If that were the case the case would not be asking for a Trial Date come Tuesday. But there we are. Here we are. It's very heartrending.
The whole enterprise. Being nice is such a better way to be.
Thought:
"Guard well within yourself that treasure, kindness. Know how to give without hesitation, how to lose without regret, how to acquire without meanness."
- George Sand
So I may lose some in the case. But I had some good things that led me to be to this point. I will treasure those good things.
But I am also moving on. The offer of Mediation and fairness has been squandered. If the other party does not want "fair" I can not make it happen. I'll just let the judge decide what he thinks is a fair share and accept that. It's the american legal system. And California is a Community Property State. 50% each. (AFTER ATTORNEYS FEES)
I'd better say less than more... But if one wants to be fair in a divorce their are mediators that make it fair and cost far less in emotional and financial distress.
I truly hate to throw away money. Being forced to flush money down the toilet is not fair. Not Nice.

More than 2 are running for President in 2012
Why is everyone thinking that there are only 2 candidates? Are we voting for the better of two bad choices?
The news only gives press time to the top two. Both the candidates form the Democrat and Republican primaries are the worst of the initial contenders. The ones that did the best at appeasing the primary nut-jobs.
Does anyone even know the names of the Green Party candidate? It's Jill Stein. Do you know her policy positions? If they align better than Obama or Romney maybe you should vote for her!
Or the Libertarian Candidate that is getting great reviews. Gary Johnson is the Libertarian Presidential Candidate. Read about his policies at http://www.garyjohnson2012.com I think many people would appreciate the "I Side With" quiz to realistically find the candidate that shares your views. (See link)
Why are we* not screaming that we want the best Candidate?! Instead of the party that will sell us down the river of partisan politics and more of the same failed partisan politics.
We must, as a nation, move away from the partisanship of Republican vs Democrat as a polarity issue We are smarter than that.
I have heard the conservative Democrats of Virginia rile and they would make the most conservative republican of Orange county gasp at the narrow mindedness and strict conservative bent. THESE ARE NOT COMPATIBLE. If we solely decide on ONE hot button we are also being simpleminded.
Think people. Follow your higher mental capacity to ask the truly important questions. Them go vote and vocally support your man/woman.
If you must support your union to keep your job... then vote your Teamster or Teachers Union ticket. If you must have Woman's rights as the one key item then research who will do the most to keep freedom of choice in their heart. What about other personal rights, Freedoms. Surprise. It is not all owned by a Democrat or a Republican alone.
This election matters and your vote for the Most Qualified or Best Policy is better than throwing away your vote for the better of Two Bad Choices.
Sincerely,
Keith Lambert.
I vote. I fish. I love my dog. AND I love the US of A

Healthy Living - Healthy search results - reaching out more than once
I want to go on a crusade to remind folks to use the other Search Engines too. Google does Not own the entire www search world. For example... Recall that at one time Ford/Chevy/GM thought that they owned the auto industry out-right? Now the times have changed.
My_Space was the darling of the social media environs on the web for a time. Now Facebook is being pressured by others and Kids do not use it as their parents will see what they are up to. (and future bosses)
Google is not a for sure thing ether. For example I searched for "cream of broccoli soup with cheddar"
on all these three search engines...
Google.com Yahoo.com Bing.com
AND really liked that Yahoo and Bing both listed an about.com recipe at
http://southernfood.about.com/od/cheesesouprecipes/r/Creamy-Broccoli-Cheddar-Soup.htm
Thinking that healthy foods into my diet mean not just cracking open a dang can. Since I'm cooking for myself nowadays. Eating out 3 times a day is not healthy to your gut or your back pocket.
And that we need to look to more than Google to find the nuggets of cool stuff on the web.
My thought for the day.
Have a good one yourself...

3 days on Wavelength with some friends... Just for the fun of it.
Had a fun three days of fishing!
Trolling nearby to that we picked up a bigger and hearty marlin on the troll that I got to fight to the boat at 24 minutes. Unfortunately the lure had a very short leader and was not taken as the leader man (also short) did not have the ability to grasp it. At 27 minutes the hook finally came free. The marlin was to the boat 2 times and if I/we wanted to kill it we surely would have had it on the boat with the long gaff. I’m okay with the long release even though the guys say it was effectively a “Caught Fish” I will not be submitting a weight slip on this one. One angler on board thought it was big like 180 to 190 ish. I think it was more like 150 to 180 ish. Never know unless killed and hung on the scale. So we are okay with letting them go free. But I do wish I could have grabbed it's bill and given it a pet on the nose.
Then John found a bit of action just a few miles outside the 43 spot. We stopped at a patty that was epic. Dream paddy fishing. The dorado were jumping up and playful even when not hooked! Unfortunately the firecracker Yellowtail were too thick and the guys had a hard time getting picked up by the bigger Dorado. Luckily I got two. A big bull that went 14.5 pounds. And a female a little smaller at maybe 8 lbs. Ron H had a big one to the boat that puked up all the bait/feed/chunkes & his hook right before John was about to gaff it.
Richard loved the mayhem and bouncing the Yellowtails over the rail onto the deck. The Wavelength had a fine day. All fish we kept went on ice right away and John and Ron did an excellent job filleting the fish.

Meanwhile... I missed the KHMT fishing event in Avalon last weekend. AND I missed two local fishing events this weekend (MDRA and CYC). Ooops. This was worth it!
- Day One: Fished out to San Clemente on Saturday
- Day Two: Went south to the 43 on Sunday and got Marlin and Dorado and some firecracker Yellowtail.
- Day Three: On the return trip on Monday we saw very little. Did use up the last of the bait at Catalina for a few Calicos and a passel of Perch. All released.

4th of July 2012
Just back. We got to take the Ramblin over to the Island for another great DRYC cruise.
It was a great Guys weekend. Thomas' good friend Daniel came along. AND Daniel's Dad, Steve, came along. He was great company for me.
Thomas and Daniel took charge of the crossing. I lounged downstairs with Steve for much of the Crossing. How great that Thomas is able to run the boat with enough skill that I could actually relax! It is stressful enough to get everyone on board and all the supplies loaded up.
The crossing was some good smooth water and no shipping issues. Some larger swells made it interesting but not anything the Ramblin' can't handle.
We had some great times at the island. Even played Softball. Thomas and Daniel had lots of experience playing ball together so it went well.
And as usual the cruise is a reunion of many fun friends. The big tables at the landing were full of happy people and eventually heaping servings of good food.
We walked over to the Two Harbors' far side and watched the fireworks. Good fun. This was followed by dancing at the Doug's Harbor Reef. As usual the kids are out on the dance floor in mass until the 10 pm cut off.
We decided to Not hurry home. We took the day to hike. With Thomas hurrying ahead like a Jack Rabbit he left us all to suck wind trying to scale the side of the mountain. We took water breaks and avoided a heart attack or heat stroke.
But the views at the top were worth it!
Thomas did a stunt on us and hid over the edge... But he came back up and did slow down for a photo with dad.
It was another thing to get down! Thomas lead us on a loop. OMG was this slippery slope going to dump us into a bunch of cactus? Luckily we did survive it. Daniel did have a blow out and destroyed one on his shoes. Funny stuff.
Then on Monday we did finally head for home. We took the time to fish and give the boys a bit of time to Snorkel and explore the beautiful waters of Catalina.
I'm very happy with the trip and the boat performed great!
I even got some help washing the boat this time. Loved it.
Fish Wish Granted. We had a good and safe trip.

Fishing show in Orange
Yesterday I paid a visit to the Pacific Coast Sportfishing Festival at the Orange County Fairgrounds. Wish I knew a few days ago that if you got a Diawa reel at the show the Diawa booth would match it with a Rod and Hat and Shirt free. Now you tell me.
The seminars were cool. Calico fishing tips. White Seabass fishing tips. I had very attentive ears. Some great fishing tips. Some very knowledgeable folks to talk to in the booths too. Ran across radio talk show host Sergio Fainsztein of course. And also saw a fishing pal Bradley S. Schnair there with some of his newer lure designs. AND I loved that Ballast Point was there pouring some very tasty beer!
If you know me you know I like beer while fishing or talking fishing.
www.BallastPoint.com I really like the Yellowtail!
This stuff rocks cool art of Fish on the outside and really tasty beers inside!
Yes I had a good time.
My fishy need sorta solved for now.
Waiting for the bite to start and the water to clear before I start up the engines on Ramblin'.

Fishing trip Jan 2012
My first Ramblin' fishing trip of Twenty Twelve.
Took a couple of MDRA guys out to run the boat and do a little fishing.
All in all it was a nice fishing day (Saturday. Jan 28th). Got to put my new fishing license to work. Will try to fish in all 12 months of "twenty twelve." Now if Only I could put a weight slip in to MDRA in each of the 12 months. That is much harder given the lack of fish biting yesterday.
Locally we had small craft advisories. Due to wind concerns. But that has to do with the entire Los Angeles weather pattern. Most has to do with blowing over trucks on the high mountain passes. If the conditions are right we could have bad weather in the bay or even a big Santa Ana cna bash Avalon Harbor.
This was not the case for yeasterday. Yes I checked the weather. So we went out on the Ramblin' and were rewared with fantastic conditions and views.
All the scared-d-cats are at the docks so we had very few boats on the water. The weather was great. The water was flat. Wind was nominal. I was in the south half of Santa Monica Bay. Not north up in Malibu under the steep canyons anyhow.
The one item we did need was a hot spot with biting fish! It was not a good day for catching. We did have a great blue sky day on the water. Few boats were out there. Nice dolphin and bait action. We fished from Malaga Cove to PV point and got nothing. Did have some excitement as a nice thresher shark that picked up one of my sardines on the drop and it gave us a terrific show. Even after it bit the line off it still broke the surface for wild slashing of that great big iridescent tail in the afternoon sunshine.
Fish Wish Granted... Good day on the water.

Happy new year 20 12
New years resolutions...
1
To call the new year twenty twelve. Not two thousand twelve.
2
I resolve to use both my right hand and left hand while brushing my teeth.
(train left hand and go easy on my top left gums)
3
...
Still working on the list. Suggestions?
Silly ones are welcome too. ( see # 1 & 2 above)

Trivia of the day - Noosphere
Maybe you or I can use this new word in Scrabble someday.
Word of the Day... noosphere
Ha. This leads credence to this sticker I saw...
the quote said... "The Internet makes you Stupid."
Less time on Facebook may save me from myself. Now to accomplish that. How to pull myself away from the tempting titillation of the noosphere?
I post about my dog. About the sunset. About stuff. Isn't my life's trivialities a riveting topic for everyone else? Oh boy that works for this blog too. How true is that.
Will make a post next about my New Years Resolutions. Will I include Facebooking less? Let's see.
More later.
