Struggle is good

clip of story... about Struggle _ We need it to stay strong and healthy

A man found a cocoon of a butterfly. One day a small opening appreared. He sat and watched the butterfly for several hours as it struggled to force its body through that little hole. Then it seemed to stop making any progress. It appreared as if it had gotten as far as it could, and it could go no further.

So to help the butterfly, he took a pair of scissors and snipped off the remaining bit of the cocoon. The butterfly then emerged easily. But it had a swollen body and small, shriveled wings. The man continued to watch the butterfly because he expected that, at any moment, the wings would enlarge and expand to be able to support the body, which would contract in time.

Neither happened. In fact, the butterfly spent the rest of its life crawling around with a swollen body and shriveled wings.

It never was able to fly.

What the man, in his kindness and haste, did not understand was that the restricting cocoon and the struggle required for the butterfly to get through the tiny opening were God's way of forcing fluid from the body of the butterfly into its wings so that it would be ready for flight once it achieved its freedom from the cocoon. Sometime struggles are exactly what we need in our lives. If God allowed us to go through our lives without any obstacles, it would cripple us. We would not be as strong as what we could have been. We could never fly! Remember... what we struggle with makes us strong!

Not going Memorial Day

Dropped the trip on Memorial Day to Cat Harbor from the calendar. Darn it.
It would have been a nice trip to go on but ... Family is not on board with it.
Tents on the shore under a light and lack of faith in good weather and the boat.

Need a better boat if family trips are to happen I guess. And more revenues to justify the fuel bills as well! That was the clincher. Dooh. Or is that Dough!

Doooh

Work, Work, Work and a little bit of Baseball with Thomas.
Made a little time to help him and a pal build a toy 50cal for playing army in the yard with friends. Now have to go off to a meeting with the neighborhood group.

Looking forward to time at Catalina for Memorial Day.

New Fish Wish - Memorial Day weekend

My new fish wish is for good weather and water conditions for the planned Memorial Day weekend trip to Cat Harbor with the club.

We will be staying in tents on shore. So the little boat will be a pack mule on the way to and from but should be free to fish while at the island.

I want to play with Thomas. Give Ryan some freedom to roam at two harbors. Trish will ride her bike and tour the byways. Sounds good to me. Fingers Crossed.
