A day in the Ball Park

Sunday at the Ball Park

We are so blessed in our area to have a fine little community Little League organization. North Venice is not rich but they are well off in the department that maters most. Active Volunteers and Loving Parents. The three fields are on the top of the hill. They are in decent shape.

This Sunday was the second game for the team. Thomas had a good game and his Dodgers won. They are good at bat. That puts points on the board.

Thomas got hits like last Wednesday and got onto base. But unfortunately he was left standing on base for the third out several times. Then in the 5th inning he got to run in to home plate and had fun running so far after the stomp on the home plate that he bounced off the fence. He had fun with that.

He got some great compliments from other parents sitting near me as to his form and style while playing Catcher. Up on his feet in a good squat and with his free hand wrapped back around his back. Great look. Now to get faster to move to the ball.

I’m so proud of him.

Makes working the shift in the snack bar not so bad. I was a short order fry cook from 11 am to 3 pm. “Cheeseburger! Cheeseburger!” and “Order Up!” was the new lexicon for the day. Got out in time for the 4pm ball game of Thomas’s Dodgers.

Ryan rode his bike up with a friend and made a fun family day of it. Trish sat next to me in the stands eating sunflower seeds most of the game.

A very good Sunday. Thanks for letting me share it with you.
